Green Night at the Brewery
On the 2nd Wednesday of every month, the Northampton Brewery is happy to host Green Drinks-Northampton and the Western Mass. Green Consortium (WMGC). The WMGC meets in the sunroom at 4:00pm for networking, followed by a presentation and meeting. Green Drinks takes place in our bar and lounge area from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, but there are often folks lingering and networking long after.
The Western Mass Green Consortium is a membership association for businesses, organizations, educators, and individuals committed to environmentally and socially responsible business practices. Their mission is to promote sustainable business practices, nurture the environmentally committed business sector, advocate for environmentally progressive policies, and improve the environmental profile of economic activity in Western Massachusetts.
Green Drinks-Northampton is an open-format, agenda-less, non-dues-paying, casual meetup for eveyone from seasoned green industry professionals to the green curious.
Both groups are open to the public. Come on down for some lively discussions, informative presentations and great beer!
IPA Beer Dinner
The IPA dinner is coming up on December 9th, and our Head Chef Chris Ware is working hard to make this a spectacular treat for all involved. We snuck into his office and stole his notes. This is a working list (things are subject to change) but here's a preview of what's in store:
Sausage and polenta stuffed tomatillos
Spicy tiger shrimp served with a sweet corn fritter
Smoked jalapeno BBQ baby-back ribs
Palette cleansing sorbet (raspberry?)
Seared tuna with braised red cabbage
Flourless chocolate torte
To accompany/wash down all that goodness we have Black Boots, Humbug, and Mean Green Double IPA, as well as the three previously mentioned. We will be having fun over the next week seeing what pairs best with what; how different beers pull certain flavors out of the food. Good times! It all happens at 7:00 on December 9th...hope to see you there.
Hoppy Holiday Happenings
Here at the brewery, our Santa doesn't wear a red suit, he wears blue boots. And he doesn't have a beard (most of the time), but his assistant does. He goes by the name Boog, and he is giving us the gift of India pale ales, so we thought we would share them with you. Actually, we wanted to keep them for ourselves, but Janet said that would be a bad business practice. So we are proud to announce our first IPA week, December 7th through the 13th. At least 6 of our 14 taps will be our IPAs, from Blue Boots (on now and selling fast) to Jess's Rye-PA, and the brand new Pucker Power. They will be on all week (or until they sell out), so stop by and treat yourself...or be one of the lucky few at our IPA dinner. What better way to celebrate a job well done then to have a dinner with our favorite beers? We decided to forego the usual "beer hall-style" beer social for a more intamate, in-the-round setting. We are keeping it limited to 35 people, so we can converse instead of present; this is the season for sharing after all. Chef Ware will be putting together a menu of bold and spicy flavors to compliment the awesome beer line-up. Word is going out today, so get your tickets quick!
Halloween brewery-style
Join us Saturday, October 31st for our haunted harvest celebration. We will have a special harvest menu from Chef ware's caldron till 11:00. We will have dancing and music by DJ Profhet from 10:00 until 2:00. Proper ID is required, and it is 21+ after 11:00pm. There will be costume aplenty and let's not forget the beer. Beer so good it's scary!
Bring a Friend
Much like great beer or a hearty meal, some things are better shared. We are happy to announce that Jeremy Krusas, head brewer at The People's Pint, will be joining us for our beer social. The big emphasis for this beer dinner is on local products. We try to use them whenever possible, and we're not alone. The People's Pint has been in the business for a while, and they remain strong to the same convictions of outsourcing locally while being aware of your impact on the community and the environment. We are happy to have Jeremy join us for a night of local food and beer featuring grass-fed beef, locally raised fish and vegetables, and homemade bread and cheese. We look forward to see you there!
